Fecking standard Commencal grips are w@nk. Everytime I hit the trails I feel like i've got arthritis before the end. I've after something that works well with gloves and has a bulge (ooerr) in the middle, ergonomic stylee.

Oh, and not too pricey either.

Yeti ODI lock on grips work for me.

Could it be your front suspension set up: I find if I wind the rebound damping right the way off on short travel forks my wrists are much happier: lets the fork bounce back quickly to abosrb the next small hit, if I don't do this the fork gets progressivly harsher with eash successive hit until it feels like its not really working any more. Just a thought.

I use raceface good'n'evil as they are larger diameter, and suit larger hands.

I've played with the rebound settings until i'm blue in the face and while it has made some difference, it's not eliminating it enough to be comfortable on longer rides (or longer descents) so the next cheapest thing to change has to be the grips. Either that or a fork service eventually.

I like my Oury grips. No silly "ergonomic" bulges just a pleasantly fat grip that's nice and comfy. Available in lock-on flavour now too.

Pretty sure I have these and really like them. They are really old too but wear well.

we can sample each others grips next time we ride!

RaceFace ODI lock-ons for me - picked them up in Morzine when the ordinary Yetis I had were tearing my hands apart through my gloves. Very comfy!

My well worn and trusty Raceface lock on ones have never let me down and you can replace the rubbers when they wear out too. They are quite narrow and do have a bulge in the middle.

Got some nice new Charge lock on's on my other bike which I havn't had chance to try in anger yet but seem very good quality, resonable price too.

Always knew you were a kinky b@stard Jon, but that's a bit too far!

Just to buck the trend I ordered a couple of pairs of Ritchey WCS True Grips yesterday. They're cheap, have a bulge and are foam, so nice and light and shouldn't rough my gloves up too much. No doubt i'll be replacing with some Lock-Ons soon though and regretting not taking everyones advice!
