Trying to remember an old computer game..

I used to have this game on the PC about 12 years ago and I'm trying to remember the name. It was a FPS, you played a marine-style commando landing on a living alien 'planet' (think something like an intergalactic mining operation - lots of rotating amber warning lights and yellow-and-black hazard strips everywhere. I think it began with 'De-'. Set in a slightly futuristic world - you get to wear an 'exo-skeleton'-style protective suit. A bit like the marines in Starcraft.
It's REALLY bugging me, and I figured if anyone's going to know, it'll be someone here. Please - PLEASE - put me out of my misery.

Couldn't think of much at all, but Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels, was an FPS alien type shooter I enjoyed on the 3DO around that time and you wore a metal suit in that.Was also released on PC.
I wonder if this is going to be a well known title, or something more obscure or possibly an addon for quake or summat

Going back a tad further - Hunter on the Amiga. The first game I played where you had a "world" and could interact with people, things, vehicles etc.
I also remember a game called Mercenary 3 which was sort of in space if I remember. Was there some sort of trading involved? It's a bit vague but that also seemed like a big game - for its day.
On the PC, there was Under a Killing Moon which integrated point and click with video animation of real people - another "first" at the time.
These aren't necessarily great games, just ones which stuck in my mind over the years for some reason or another.

Yea, come to think of it I had an old computer game back in around 76-78, (32 years ago)used to plug it into your telly, (no remote either), and you had two slide thingies, used to try to hit this little white object moving across the screen from left to right, or was it right to left?
What was that one called??????????? Ping or Pong..it even played 2 games as well, might have been 3, cost about £17 then.

Does not sound like descent I have to say. No suits anywhere, you were in a spaceship and all the enemies were robot spaceships too.
Odd thing is I was thinking about it the other day, and I can see the cd in a cupboard. Time to see if I can get it to work on XP....

How many times do I have to say it..? It WAS Descent, just my memory letting me down from over a decade ago...
Please, no more threads saying, "It doesn't sound like Descent.."
