I will be ordering the bodywork and some other stuff in the next few days.
I just have to do the alignment and final fit the brakes.

I was thinking about black, but having been to the Open Day at the factory, and seen some cars, I am rather keen on yellow now...

Putting you car on it's wheels for the first time is fantastic. You just can't believe how low it is! (It's also easier to get into and make engine noises... or was that just me???)

Hello everyone, I'm Phil and off to Hinkley this Thursday for a pre-booked test ride.
I've been into modified cars for a little while now and finally come to my senses.

But at 6ft 3 I'm a little concerned about the centre roof bars in the roll cage. We've hopefully got a workable solution.

Don't rush to get it down off the dolly. I know you want to see it down but the whole purpose of the dolly is making it easier to work on and you still have a long way to go.
Mine was almost complete including engine in before it came down.

What colour?, the ever perplexing conundrum that folk often find so difficult to decide
Now, you KNOW my thoughts on the matter although I am not going to try and convince you to follow suit because it did occur to me just the other day that I may be better of keeping such information to myself, after all, even though it is the correct colour, we wouldn't want it to become TOO common would we?
It is always going to be a difficult choice as it seems to me that the type of folk that desire a car like this in the first place are more interested in the build/mechanics/performance etc. and when it does eventually come to a colour choice having to be made, find the decision a bit tough because it had maybe never even been seriously considered until it is time to order the bodywork.
The gel-coat colour options are also a little limited, as far as I am aware the following choices available are;

r e d
y e l l o w
w h i t e
g r e e n
g r e y
Blue
Mclaren Orange
BLACK
b r o w n ( a joke obviously )

This really is a limited choice but in fairness many more options would be a nightmare from a production point of view, but what about metallic/pearlescent/metal-flake etc. paint finishes I here you say?
Have you considered a paint finish as opposed to gel coat?
Some have bought a specifically coloured body shell with the intention of painting at a latter date and the colour chosen has been deliberately sought to be the best under colour in the event of stone chips/damage occurring over time, worth a thought.
I know that you must have considered all options but if you are still having trouble deciding and your buss pass is looming, then y e l l o w is a safe bet, after all, we all like Dolly Mixtures right?

OK... how about orange AND black - like this lovely Bentley that was parked outside my office at lunch.... its orange and black inside too!

I assume you mean that you put it back onto the dolly to work on after the body had been pre-fitted ?

I have a hoist in the garage, so I will probably be able to do as you suggest.

Can all of the body parts be taken on and off with it on the dolly ?

just a quickie to say that I'm now back from Hinckley after a very pleasant couple of hours with Ted, Dave, a delectable young lady in the office and a silver GTR

I didn't really have any doubts about an Ultima being a full on driving experience and I'm very pleased to say it didn't disappoint.

Why bother with anything else?

Now then, how much for a kidney? one careful owner...?

Hi there! I only took the car down from the dolly after it was almost all completed. It's so much easier to fiddle with the various bits and pieces when you have easy access from the top and below. Btw, mine is yellow too! Cheers, Willy.
