I can only think of the smoking ban.

Probably is to the pub industry that's closing pubs at a rate of 60+ a week due to huge decreases in trade and hikes in alcohol duty. People are staying at home with supermarket-bought booze and smoking in the comfort of their own homes for a fraction of the price.

I disagree with you about the smoking ban (in case my previous post was unclear). It's the Nanny State meddling and controlling something purely for the sake of it. The freedom of choice should have been enough - if pubs wanted to be non-smoking, then they could be.

Labour: If you can enjoy it, tax it. If you can't tax it, ban it.

They gave scumbags a better life, oh wait thats a bad thing.
They taxed the st out of fuel because of MMGW, oh wait that doesn't exist.
There pushing small haulage firms out of business, oh wait thats a bad thing.
They giving to much power to the HSE, oh lets thing, ah thats a bad thing too.
They have really done well on the bennifits thing, I mean I now give my tax's to the issue highlighted in point one.

Over the five years of a Labour government:

7 We will help build strong families and strong communities, and lay the foundations of a modern welfare state in pensions and community care

8 We will safeguard our environment, and develop an integrated transport policy to fight congestion and pollution

9 We will clean up politics, decentralise political power throughout the United Kingdom and put the funding of political parties on a proper and accountable basis

10 We will give Britain the leadership in Europe which Britain and Europe need
