Managed to secure a roof panel which I was going to cut in half, bought from the classified from nobody I know. Agreed a price last week and said I couldnb't collect until after the Growl, which he was OK with. Tried mailing through here Monday and yesterday but nought. He said he'd mailed me but doubt it as I get all the other through here. Just called him and he's sold it to someone else as he hadn't heard from me. Understand if I was an unknown.
What a to55er.
Be careful out there.

You are not alone.
I bought my spare roof panel from a TVRCC member in N.Ireland who answered my wanted add in Sprint - he described the panel as brand new, never used, perfect condition and just sat in the spare bedroom for years gathering dust.
Great I thought, I'll keep this new one as is and chop up my old one. He originally said £100, then decided to double his price because 'somebody else was now interested'. Still OK for a brand new panel I thought.
When I recieved the panel it was far from brand new and not worth anything like what I'd paid for it. He wouldn't answer emails or the phone to discuss further.
I trusted a fellow TVRCC member and got shafted - what a tool you are Alan!

He said he'd been messed around before and assumed I didn't want it, but I'm a regular on here and I'm sure that must count for something.
Rigga - did get e-mails and mailed you back a few times from memory?
Anyway, verbal is a legal contract so should his ads now be taken off - has he broke the rules?

I think he just meant that as he's well known on PH and the TVRCC he's fairly easy to get hold of... nothing more than that really.

It was for my Griff which as most of you know I use everyday - it's my daily runabout! I've got a bad back and sometimes struggle with the roof panel (getting it in and out of the boot) and so a two-piece option would mean more roof down journeys to and from work for me. I can't tell you how pcensoredd off I am at this guy for reneging on the deal.

I'm cloud watching today as I've left the roof down while I'm at work today! Couldn't be bothered to put it back on after last nights foray into Herefordshire for a 3C3 mid-month meet - and yes, it rained all the way there and back.

Bought my Zertec exhaust system off of Alan, and had no problems with the deal.

MrsFFG I didn't mean that MrFFG was suggesting he should get special treatment. I meant that the seller had agreed to wait until after the Growl for collection, and I assume, payment, but still sold it. Whether you are known on here or not to agree a sale then just totally disregard what has been agreed is not on. To be honest though it shouldn't really surprise anyone, should it?

It's a sad world I guess - I am honestly surprised by this guys lack of scrupels though! I dunno, I expect more from fellow tivers - perhaps I should lower my standards? I always try to treat others the way I'd like to be treated myself and that normally stands me in good stead!

As far as we were concerned we'd entered into a verbal/email contract with this guy and having sold it someone else, he's left us in the lurch. I was so excited when Paul said he'd got one and we'd even lined up the 'expert' who was going to cut in half for us! (not wishing to imply you're not a real expert there Ian!)

I got ripped off by an alan in Ireland twice in fact, my fault, I trusted him when he said the first package had not arrived. Anyone like to put a second name?

Hi David not heard Paul hassling you for help in a while... I'm sure it's just a momentary blip!

Anyway - can we keep the surname of this Alan chap to PM rather than open forum please. Just in case...

I'd hate to see this turning into a Paddy bashing session,if i can help in any way please get in touch, north or south by the way ? might as well get my own grip out while we are at it,advertisers please have the manners to reply to e mails from interested parties even if you have already sold the item rather leaving people hanging wondering whether the item is available or not.

Well i may have the solution to your problems.

I have a 2 piece mould for making standard one piece targa roof panels
Have made 3 from it, even with the carbon look underside, which was tricky

Been thinking about selling it, would you be interested ?

Is there a market for split 2 piece panels ?
