Hi guys. I'm trying to get a more complete picture of what has been done to the engine on my Wedge. I've tried contacting J.E. Engineering but, unfortunately, their record-keeping is not too godd!
I know that the engine is 4.5 L, has the Jaguar AFM, larger plenum (what size is the inlet?) and has no vacuum advance.
What I'm not sure of is which trumpets are fitted inside the plenum, what work (if any) has been done to the heads, which cams are fitted, is the ECU standard and are the Jaguar injectors fitted? Are there any other mods that I need to know about?
I would like to plan ahead for some engine work next year, but need to know where I am starting from.
Cheers
Karl

I spoke to a chap who worked at J.E. at the time the engine was built. J.E. themselves don't have any records of what's in there but this chap remembers the blue Wedge the engine was built for, for a Mr Hart. It was stolen from the premises just before the engine conversion & ended up in France full of drugs or something. They sent a chap from J.E. out there to get it & he ended up spending the night in the cells over there because of a mis understanding.
Anyhow when they had it back they did a proper job on it because of the inconvenience to Mr Hart. So it was one of their standard 4.5 conversions, bored & stroked from 3.5 to 4.5, (the original engine number shows it came from an SD1 VDP) Ported inlet, big valves, Jag airflow meter, short trumpets, Jag injectors & an adjustable ECU. He said it would have been run in & set up on their dyno too. Dam good motor that. He said it would probably have had their '101' cam.
He also remembered that Mr Hart told his wife that it was going in for a service.
If I remember any more I'll let you know.
