Hi all, first time on the Mercedes side for me.

I have jsut taken delivery of a new C class. However I forgot to specify engine badge deletion on the rear and it looks naff. Is it possible to just pull it off? Or is it held on with serious glue that will pull the paint off/be impossible to remove, or pegs? Also its black, so any glue left on will be very obvious.

Many Thanks

B.

I know a friend removed the badges from his Vauxhall using a hair dryer to heat up the glue. Then just wiped away any excess glue, and gave the area a good clean and wax.

Not sure about the modle/engine badge but the three pointed stars were riveted to the boot lid. (As I found out when some scrotes tried to nick mine with a screwdriver!! About £400 to put the damage right)

So, be carefull.

Exactly how I did mine (albeit with a heat gun, not a hair dryer)

Gentle heat and you can feel the glue melting. I used a plastic scraper thing to just start to lift them, then a bit of *slow* peeling.

Or just leave it parked up around Daventry.. the badge will be gone in no time laugh

Yeah a bit of heat and a plastic scraper is all you need. The model line badges aren't riveted on, just some glue.

When the dealer takes delivery of it they do a vehicle inspection, clean it, put on plates. I just asked them to remove them at the dealership when they did this for my S. Wasn't a problem for them.

If you wish to remove it yourself then do as others have said with a little heat from a hairdryer then use a fishing line to slide behind the badges.
