Hi guys,

Anyone on here own (or owned) a coupe4 (4WD version of a monaro - ish)?
What's everyone's thoughts about that particular car?

that is nice i would like as a dream car a mix of my VXR styling with the coupe 4 arch's and 4 wheel drive system with the vxr manual box. ALso prefer the carbon bits on the dash and the guages these may well be aftermarket though

ive done alot of this with sklyines and 200sx's

the engine is likely the same the cross member maybe slightly different. I would say the body is also the same. An auto box would likely be bigger wouldnt it? the engine would still be longitudially mounted like a GTR with 4wd. Cant see it would be ridiculously hard?

Cheers for the reply Phil. How does the 4WD effect the 'feel' of the car? Does it still have that Monaro 'rawness' or does it become 'tame'?

If you want a hairy chested car that you can slide around with ease then Coupe 4 is not for you. In Melbourne in the wet, I would not take on a WRX at the lights in a VZ HSV. With Coupe 4 however, I was up for any challenge. It's an offence to spin the wheels on the road, I am told this means the Police believe the car is out of control. I do believe the Coupe 4 had a better chassis because we extended the track front and rear, and it was a quick car through the twisty bits despite having less ultimate BHP.

Yeah thanks mate that's pretty much what I was looking to hear. Sounds like a very good option for racing around and a rare piece of Evo/Scooby killer if done right.

The same AWD system was available in a Commodore Wagon called an Adventra and a Dual cab Ute called a Cross8. HSV had versions too but not with 6 litre engines, I don't believe.
There weren't sny made in manual sadly.

There was one manual built as a prototype. it never came to market.
