This guy is amazing! He managed to build his own carbon fibre frame! It's definitely something I wouldn't ever try since I lack all the possible skills but what an effort!

I want the bamboo frame. That looks so cool, imagine the comments you'd get out and about on that smile

Saw some dude doing an Enduro on one similar - I believe they are sold by someone somewhere, but god knows what they're called :|

Was that on the Clic24 Neil? I saw a chap going round on one there, looked pretty cool cool

It was, yes. Looked crazy and very cool. Not often I see stuff on bikes that makes me take a double check, but that did!

Hmmm how light is that bamboo frame d'you reckon. Comparable to Carbon fibre?

Apparently it is, plus it provides more elasticity. On top of that, it's much tougher than carbon fibre.

Probably a superb material for bike frames. Google Bamboo scaffolding and be amazed. We saw some huge structures in Singapore.

Interesting, however probably could have been even better if he'd used some UD as well as weave and used peel ply instead of electrical tape...it would have been lighter, and he's have saved a shed load of sanding.

Good project...and got me thinking too. I've messed about with carbon a lot in boats...not sure I'd ever trust it 100% though if I made it myself on a bike!
