Focus C/Locking problem

I make no apologies if this is a repost - I've scanned as far back as can be arsed.

My mate's got a Focus 1.8 LX, 5 door - (2000 on a T plate).

The central locking on the front passenger side isn't working correctly. These are symptoms:

• C/Locking on this one door will not lock/unlock when the button is pressed.
• This door will lock/unlock when the switch for this door is operated manually
• The door will not lock/unlock if the drivers door switch is operated (however the rear ones do).

When he leaves the vehicle, he has to lock the front passenger door manually, then lock the other doors with the button/key/whatever.

What is this likely to be?

Sounds like central locking module in passanger door, get second hand from scrapyard.

fantastic, thanks for that... i'd already acquired one of them so I was on the right lines.

does it need anything in the way of reprogramming? or is it just a case of change the lock barrels over and plug in?
