Bike insurance, whos got it?
Discussion
Taking this slightly off topic. I would like to get some 3rd Party Insurance for when I ride, I have read that this comes as part of a membership to a Cycling Organisation, can anyone make any recommendations? Which is the best org to join? I manly do XC and road biking.
BTW I have my bike insured through my house insurance, I think it added about £35 per year to my policy as a named item.

Specialist bike insurance can work out very expensive if you have anything worth a decent amount (or more than one bike etc.)
As has been mentioned previously, M&S Home Insurance can be a good way to go as all possessions (including bikes) are covered up to a single item limit of £4k, which should be enough for most cyclists. They don't even want to know the details of the bike(s) in question.
Top service.

When we called up M+S to insure my bike, they didn't mind it was over £4k really. As long as you declare it, they're pretty cool.
Without sounding all TOFF TOFF, my mum managed to write off quite an expensive Rolex (woman+stairs ey!) and M+S were amazing to her considering the claim and got everything organized as quickly as possible with the minimum fuss. Cant recommend enough.
