I think I may have spotted a slight design flaw (ahem!) If I ever manage to catch the top of the accelerator pedal with my shoe (and I do occasionally - I'm not the most light-footed of people), a little metal tubular clip pings off into the footwell, and the throttle cable comes off the top of the accelerator pedal. The clip appears to be the main thing stopping the cable falling off. Has anyone any ideas how I can keep the clip in place without gluing it on?

Not sure what it looks like and fits together but how about lock wire?

Aha - of course - gaffer tape! Why didn't I think of that?! I've already got the wing mirror secured with that, so a bit more ain't going to hurt!

Thanks.

That might be an idea too. It depends how much grip the wire will have on the metal clip. I'll try the gaffer tape first, and see how it goes (coz I know I've got some of that in the back of the car!)

Cheers.

Mark at Towerview suggested that I squeesed the top of the pedal together with pliers to stop the cable jumping out if the clip goes AWOL

While we're on the subject, Has anyone modified their accelerator pedal/linkage to lessen the excessive travel, cos its one of the things on my list to do.
Am currently thinking of modifying the pedal or engine lever so that i can get full travel comfortably?
