i want to renew the oil in my diff, now ive had it up on ramps and can see a large nut on the side of the diff for filling the thing up but there is no sign of a drain plug.

i do not have a hydrtrak diff, as a specialist was looking at the diff with me.

how do i drain the oil from it and how easy is it? the specialist said i have to undo the nuts around the back of the diff (sort of a flange type arangement) but the top nut he said was complicated as its hard to get to and is bolted to something else. is there not a simpiler way?

I gather it is the bottom bolt that's on the back of the diff, at the lowest point. I was going to change mine, but it felt incredibly tight, so I just topped it up instead.

I might just use the suction pump I bought to fill it up, to suck the old stuff out!

what do you mean bottom bolt? do you mean it leaks from there?

i need a suction pump to drain my diff and fill it back up. will a suction pump get right to the bottom of the diff though?
