Hi all! Just set up a car club (not a cruise club) in loughborough. We already have an established meet every week on a wednesday evening with at least 30 - 40 cars in attendence. (as long as its not raining, then its about 20 haha)

All makes and models of cars are welcome. come down and show off your pride and joy as you'll be more than welcome.

www.charnwoodcarclub.co.uk come say hello and post up some pics in our show and shine topic and have a look at our current members cars.

Hope to see some new faces soon

I hope you're not planning to affiliate yourself with the MSA? Charnwood Car Club used to exist over 20 years ago but was booted out of the MSA for holding illegal events. IIRC they held a road rally without a permit and the MSA went ballistic.

I'm a member of Coalville Car Club and they approached the MSA about changing the club name to Charnwood Car Club a few years back as a) we don't meet in Coalville and b) most of the members don't live there either. Apparently the MSA said the name was still black listed biggrin

BTW the old Charwood CC's logo was a sprinting fox if you want to include a bit of heritage.

ETA: If you want to get involved in some grass roots motorsport i.e. 12 car rallies etc you'd be more then welcome at CCC smile

sounds about right!

i'l apologise for my brothers lack of punctuation!!

We're not a Cruise site and we have a very varied range of cars that attend our meets.

If anyone is attending the Fast show at santa pod in march then we'll be there on our own club stand so come and say hello.

i'l be spending most of the day going up the strip or polishing my black puma

- Honestly, ive not met you, so im not going to pass comment.

come on ^ play nice boys

Dave was just trying to state that we are not trying to attract the "chavvier" side of the car scene, we're trying to make a forum that is free of hassle from people who cause trouble. we have a fun and friendly forum and plan on keeping it that way.

thanks for reading.

Lucy @ CCC. i dont have my own login so im using this one

(plus......stone throwing? how old do you think we are??? haha)

Corsas and 106s meeting at Halfords ? Despite your probably well-meaning intentions, I can't see anyone other than Chavs being interested in that.

Assuming you're in Charnwood (a fair few PHers are), get yourselves to the Ashby Folville meets, starting again in the spring IIRC. An mix of interesting cars, in a great spot, with a decent crowd of people. If Corsa-boy leaves his attitude in Halfords Carpark and comes along, he'll enjoy it. wink

we do attend ashby folville when its on, we've always enjoyed a trip over and the cars that go.

The reason for meeting where we do is that its been a regular meeting place for about 4 years now (why mess with tradition eh? haha) and its near the centre of Loughborough, easy to find and big enough to fit everyone in.

we do get the odd person down who hears about us and thinks its funny to do burn outs etc, these people are ignored until they stop, I work with children so it works with them, why not with the others haha.

Can i just state that as one of the admin of charnwood car club, while we appreciate the fact that cruise's are often assciated with chavs, we as a group are doing our best to detract from that scene and we make it clear that we are not a cruise site.

If you dont believe us then why not let us prove you wrong, sign up to our web site (its only a crappy pro boards forum at the min) and attend our meets on wednesdays nights or even our end of month meets, you'll soon learn that once you meet myself and other memebers... even corsadave that were not chavs but actually people who take alot of pride in there cars and committed to creating and environment for people to share there passion for cars in the charnwood area.

i'l admit that most of the cars that attend our meets are modified hot hatches but wheres the problem in that? providing that everyone is on the same page and understands that as a car club we have a zero tolerance of dangerous driving.

The reason i advertised on PH in the first place to make people aware of us and what we do in a bid to help our member base grow even stronger, obviously i was wrong to do so...

Don't take it like that, it's just that some of the grammar police like to leap on text speak.

Best wishes for your club.

its just that stereotypical view that people have to car meets, and the instant response of chavs in corsa's and what ever really winds me up

Espcecially as i bet that those who have commented wont have even clicked the link to the site....

I did have a look at the site. Well the bits that are public anyway. Modified hot hatches arent my scene. Meeting in a Halfords car park is part of the sterotype I am afraid. You have places like Bragate Park on your doorstep yet choose meet at Halfords. Thus my scenic comment.
