what ive noticed on the motorway

is it me, ive been doing a shed load of motorway miles lately. The outside lane is full of rep cars and large executive diesels giving it the full monty on the outside lane.what im seeing time and time again (more than a coincidence surely)are really tasty cars in the middle lane doing 60 mph

. I reckon the petrol costs are killing people and they are trying to conserve fuel, in the last fortnight ive seen all sorts porshes astons rs4 rs6 ferraris M3s all in the middle lane,hot hatches you name it.

As for me im steaming up the outside lane in my 120d auto EFF Dyn with tuning box keeping up and leaving everything i come across and feeling quite superiorwhen i look at the OBC and see 47 .

Mind you if you asked me if id straight swap any of these middle lane monsters well er er er

nope thats not it, all those said cars used to be on the outside lane tailgating me for all theyre worth .The motorway scenery has changed recently im sure. With 210 bhp and 310lb (hot hatch thrust with v8 twist and 47mpg at 77++++ you know what? im with everything to prove

From my experience, the most aggressively driven cars are the the modern TD's. I think most owners think they have to justify their leftfield choice of car by hanging on the bumpers of cars they fink theycan they can 'ave.

steve that could be me only joking i am driving this thing fast ,but i steer well back from other cars on the fast lane ,i play a game where if i see break lights i pride myself in not having to use them tell you what this forum has great smilies

i drive an r60 m5 and pootle along on the motorway - the reason?? idiot reps who want to tailgate to somehow convince me that their 1.8d is faster than my m5

Wouldn't have thought that anyone who can afford to shell out £80k+ on a new RS6, Aston, Ferrari or the like would overly concern themselves with the cost of fuel.

squeeze dont be daft did i compare it? no i didnt ,my thread was just my thoughts on seeing these cars on the middle lane and in this day and age i just happen to have a car that can be driven fast and return great mpg. thats all never been tailgated in THIS car but if it came to it i would unleash all 4250 revs, 4500 is pushing it

i know 2 people wuo used equity on their homes to get into an aston and a rs4 now theyre in vulnerable positions.

Having just witnessed some of the most dangerous driving ive ever seen over the las 2 weeks id be quite happy to never see any m'way ever again.

The ammount of undertaking at high speed is outrageous.

Given that close to 50% of 'modern cars' sold new are diesels, its probably not unreasonable to assume that 50% of the time its going to be a diesel car behind you.

Also, given the popularity if diesel cars its amusing you think of them as 'left field'

I shall have to have my 2p's worth here, the fact everyone on here is talking about the right and lane and middle lane, these are the people who have forgot there is a left hand drive lane and will refuse to drive in it, thats why i now love the left hand lane and drive all the way to work in it and yes, i will undertake everyone who doesn't use it if they should be using it! People to proud to drive in it as there 150ps vauxhall's are the fastest thing on the road and the salesman told them they are now allowed to constantly drive like a t**t! pahh, my rant over for a few mins!
