Depends on how deep you're talking about.
If you can catch your fingernail in it, then you're less risky approach is to clean thoroughly with some IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol/Isopropanol) or Panel Wipe, and refill with paint or clearcoat (presumably the latter) so that it's just proud of the surrounding paint.
Knock back to level with a bit of 3 or 4K wet & dry, then polish back up to full lustre with either a machine polisher (quicker) and Menzerna/3M medium-light compounds or by hand with a German applicator and either Autoglym SRP or Dodo Juice Lime Prime - or both, using the LP to refine the finish after SRP.
Same tools if the scratch is light enough to forego the filling requirement.
