Speaking with a local chap, I learned that his wife was caught doing 51 mph in a 50 limit on a dual carriageway by North Wales Arrive Alive highwaymen.
She was not prosecuted but was - he says - sent a letter with a picture of the heinous offence showing her speed along with a suggestion that she may wish to re-consider her driving behaviour along with the usual stuff about killing children etc.
Astonishing.......... for 1 mph over the limit on a dual which used to be a seventy limit.
They also managed to finger her car as an Audi but it is a Fiat Cinquecento!!
The limit was reduced from 70 to 50 following a 'speed related' accident.
But I was told by a cop who attended the fatality that two drivers had been racing each other and the one who died after hitting a lamp post was found with a lager can crushed between his face and the steering wheel.
Hardly just a speed limit offence.......was it?
