Hi am new here i have a 535d love the car have thought about selling it getting the new evo test drove it but have thought bout re chipping it ? is it worth doing and can any one put me in contact with where can do is there any thing else i can do to my standard beamer ?

Without some punctuation it's damn hard to read what you've posted.

To answer your question, yes it's well worth re-mapping.

Either E-maps at £350, or DMS at approx £1k.

Both will give approx 340bhp & 660NM (480lb/ft), or more if your car is an LCI model.

yes gear lever is like that M8 have rang DMS they say i got the later model 286bhp standard and can up grade it 340bhp for about a Grand ? All they do is re programme software he says hmmmmmm takes hour an half do you think this is best option for my beameer ?

I don't doubt DMS are excellent, but I can't imagine they're any better than E-maps.

thanks andy you seem to know your stuff i,ve seen on u-tube quad exhaust pipes people have put on 535d like a M5 do they increase BHP have you seen them ?

Sorry, I can't help you there. I would offer the opinion that the M5-wannabe's are a bit tragic though.

if your gearstick looks like that you havent got the later 286BHP model. It is the 272BHP model. The 'LCI' cars (built late march 07 onwards) have a 'joystick' type gearstick - like the one here on the interior view of this car...

Ahhhhh ok i have the 272bhp model then hmmm will i still be able to get it upto 350 bhp ? hope so still its got be worth doing for 350 quid an top end be better as electric guv be removed , still wonder if there a sport exhaust out there to make more bhp to ? thanks for your knowledge

I've the 272bhp one too. Definitely worth remapping. It makes a BIG difference.

I dont think a sport exhaust is going to bring much extra to the party. You will enjoy the remap though. It turns it into a different car!

thanks pgilc1 i hope it does make a big difference have you done anything else to your car ? if not a exhaust air filters ? etc DMS said they get the car to 174mph do you think thats just by re mapping ? is yours alot faster now. Would be nice to have a better burble exhaust note don't you think

It's turbocharged and it's a diesel. The turbos reduce both intake and exhaust noise and take away the engine's natural "note". If you want a decent exhaust note buy a 540/545/550.

Yes, the standard car is well capable of exceeding 155mph but is limited to that, thus the combo of the remap and the natural power the car had in the first place should take it to around 174mph when delimited.

Ironically my last one (an LCI model (dont ask)) was delimited but i never got it opened out enough to test the 174mph limit.

Yeah i can see where your coming from with the four exhaust thing, but i dont buy turbo diesels for exhaust note. Its the torque and power capabilities, combined with the fuel economy that do it for me.

Me to my car is march 07 an already done 40,000 miles in it do i like driving it just a bit i want surprise people with the power as have had 1 or 2 boy racers try race me

If you get a custome exhaust that deletes the mufflers from the downpipes back, add a more free flowing air intake from someone like K&N and then get a custom remap from somone like Simon at eMaps, you will allows the turbos to spool up faster and rev round to approx. 5500rpm.

You will see a good 340bhp from this and it will transform an already very good car into something quite special.

Total cost will be about £1200 and worth every penny. Selling cars at the moment is not a good idea unless you have to, they are not getting much money, so transform yours for now and think about swapping next year maybe?

Don't remap it, don't believe what the "professional" remappers tell you, your autobox is not designed to take additional power from a 535d.
