Chimaera 500 stupid question

Hello all,

I am currently looking to buy a Chimaera 500, I'm probably going to have a look at a couple over the weekend. This is probably a stupid question but I was wondering how you can ensure that it is actually a 500 and not another Chim with 500 wheels on.

The boot badge will have 500 under it, it will have 500 on the plenum chamber (all easy changes if you were really devious) and it'll say 500 on the V5, MOT and Service book
Oh and it'll be quicker

Isn't there something purple in the engine as well? Stop sniggering in the back...

I mean something like the inlet manifold.

Check the V5. Also when you do an HPI it should appear on that too.

The 5 ltr's have purple rocker covers.

Mine hasn't got a 500 badge on the back, just says Chimaera but they all have purple rocker covers. The engine number should start 37A50P tho (on passengers side of the engine under the exhaust manifold), that pretty much ensures its real!

No 500 badge on mine - I've only seen 500 badges on those with the later lights.

Levens technology make them,just not sure if i need one prefer the wolf in sheep thingie.

I have an early 500 with no badge or purple rocker covers! However does say 5.0l hc on the log book and plenium chamber.
