VT - new keys needed?

as mentioned, my VT intermittently wont start as the immobliser does not always switch off..

moto, did you get your key tops replaced as this is just what was happening to you?

The battery is for opening the doors I think, not the immobiliser. Thats a contact on the key. Maybe thats worn or gunked up? IIRC the metal button contacts the key barrel and has a set resistance which must be seen by the ECU/BCM to "unlock" the immobiliser. Try ensuring that it contacts and see if that helps.

thanks ringram.. i did have a quick look at that before.. will try cleaning up the contacts on the keys and barrel and see what happens.
