Just out of curiosity anyone know how many Tasmin 350's were made, most of them I've seen seem to be 280's.

The number of Tasmin 350s is very low, I would guess at 50. Soon after the Tasmin 350 was launched the name was dropped and the 200i, 280i, 350i range was introduced.

The "Tasmin" designation was discontinued part of the way into the 1984 production year, in favor of the numerical designation. Since the 350i was introduced in 1983 as the Tasmin/350i I am not sure whether any records indicate how many were built before it simply became known as the "350i" or what
percentage of the total 350i production that would represent.

I've got the figures somewhere and I will try to find them but I think you'll find those 350s badged as Tasmins is very small - 10-20. Even my 83 +2 is badged as just a 350. I'll dig the figures out over the next day or so when I get the chance and post them.

Looks like I may have a rare one then!

Doc

The roll-bar was fitted by Peninsula just over a year ago. It's mounted through the parcel shelf onto the top of the diff carrier, and through the floor behind the seats onto the out riggers. It seems to stiffen the chassis a fair bit and gives me a bit of extra confidense if the worst was to happen. Have you seen how much the windscreen moves?!!
If you order one from them make sure you say it's a Tasmin as a standard 350i has a different bar (mine was the proto-type Tasmin bar). Also they'll probably say it's done only as a cosmetic modification, because it's not been properly crash tested ala Rollcentre. I'll post some more detailed pics later in the week if you want.
On a different note does anyone have any ideas of value of the 350 Tas, is it worth more or less than the standard 350i. Insurance comes up soon, and I don't want to be miles low on my valuation.

Cheers Gavin and A1 35 TAS

All wedges are depressingly low value when you consider that the average 350 has a superior performance to the average e-type. The main split in 350 values is pre and post a-frame so I wouldn't get your hopes up at all. Sorry.

Keep in mind that the "Tasmin" designation was dropped from the coupe lineup some time before it was discontinued in the roadster lineup. So, as Ralph said, he has a 1983+2 that just says 350i. That would
be correct but the 1983 roadsters should still be wearing the Tasmin 350i designation.

My 1985 280 plus 2 has TASMIN on the logbook. It's been resprayed some time before I bought it, so it has no markings on the car.
