Some guidance needed.

Hi

I've been toying with the idea of swapping my 05 CV8 for either a user VXR8 or one of the new ones with the LS3 engine in it.

Couple of questions: -

1) What kind of prices should I be looking at, i.e. what should I be getting for my current car (05 CV8 in good nick) and what should I expect to pay for a new VXR8.

2) What options can you specify for a new one, I've gotten the impression from some reviews I've read you can spec different types of exhaust. Is this correct? The CV8 lacked a V8 burble with the stock exhaust, but at the same time I don't want to shatter the neighbors windows J.

3) I remember someone posting a picture of an alternative wing you can have, one that was more understated that the stock one. Is that available and wouldn't it mess with the handling of the car?

4) What other pitfalls will I need to look out for?

I know I can ask most of the above at the dealership but I'd like to turn up forearmed with some knowledge.

I dont think there are any options except 20" wheels. You can then get aftermarket stuff fitted from WPUK or Wortec etc. Wing was from Mr Wortec, basically a HSV Senator spoiler IIRC.

Pitfalls, give it a good drive first to make sure its all nice, they are still all under warranty though, but probably water leaks are the worst nightmare. Check brakes arnt warped as thats also a nightmare.
