About a week ago I happened to check the levels in the coolant reservoir only to find it had dropped about a cm below the LOW level line, I immediately topped this up but noticed a couple of days layer that it had dropped to the exact same level, but no lower and I did notice some coolant around the outside of the reservoir below what looks like an overflow tube. Also, Im just curious but is the plastic coolant tank actually internally sectioned in to 2 parts as one quarter of the semi opaque plastic seems to have a higher level, possibly full. Ive had no heating issues or warnings BTW

Cheers

treat the min as a guide rather than an absolute...

so long as you can see coolant in the bottle and it's not dropping with time, leave it alone.... (remeber the bottle is from the Celica....)

I've had the same. A couple of years ago i had the heater matrix changed and then the coolant sat below the minimum line probably by a couple of cm's. I've had some issues a couple of months ago (when it was fairly warm and not raining all the time!) loosing a bit more coolant (although its been fine recently) so its going to a garage next week to get pressure tested so i have piece of mind.
It sounds fine to me but do you know the rad is a weak point? Maybe worth a quick look to make sure
