'fraid so. Just not getting time to use it like I'd hoped to, and it pains me not to. The missus has a 350Z and not having a 'proper' car around has proven to be a ballache over the past months. So, time to get a nice 'family' car that'll last us a few years, which will accommodate trips to the Alps with ski gear, take bikes in the boot without hassle... and which will tow a Caterham wink

Current shortlist is A4 Avant 2.5 TDI, 330D, 525/530d or Honda Accord CDT-i Tourer.

...yep, it'll be a while until I can scratch it (a new house with a garage has to come first), but it will happen eventually. Hopefully next year. If not, well I can wait. Other things take priority for now. thumbup

um... that is a very familiar shortlist. Something to put the baby in and room in the back for the dogs. Is there something you feel you should tell us?

Not yet dude, but one would hope so over the next year or two. Meantime 2x 2-seaters is plain daft for us at the moment, and the 350Z is both cheaper (company car, all costs bar petrol paid) and more useable for our needs than the Elise.

Cheers for the note BJ - its a superb car, and I hope I can sell it to someone that's a real enthusiast and knows what a nice one they're getting. The two previous owners did all the hard work.

Does the fact you were looking a loti in the classifieds indicate a return to the fold the Mart!

Home ownership is way over rated!!

S Works has taken the path of lad to domesticity in double quick time. This is quite disturbing. Most people get married and realise the car has to go or have a kid and the "car has to go".

He has met a lady and she has waved a 350z at him and he sells up?

[coff]whipped[/coff]

He comes here trying to be manly and says he is looking at estates. bks - you dont "look" at estates, that would imply you gave a poo about the automotive dead end the last stop before people carrrier. Even if you have to find someone else to look around, you do not care about estates. They are a delay untill you get into a proper car.

So where is the gay rum, caucasian, beer drinking party animal who would out sing drunk welsh rally drivers. The pole dancing, stripper harassing, drunkard that made the Boloc's off roading ledgendary.

I need to live precariously through your exploits and now what do I have to look forward to? Better be a damn good stag night, ill bring the clingfilm!

HI S Works,

whistleMay I kindly suggest to exchange your old S1 with my almost new V70 (year 2000), 2,4 liter, 170 bhp, metallic blue, cream leather improved by 3 kids' pencils, boots and food? biggrin
Absolutely no mod or change (except the broken parts over the years, all OEM)laugh.
And if you still hesitate it is LHDhehe, just to be sure you won't be tempted to pass someone with this level of performance bounce.
I suggest this honest exchange as a friend from my Lotus era. This is a real gift as I use this light and very soft chassis everyday to go to work in order to save the planet because the M3's gas mileage is even worse.rofl
Think about it, take care, enjoy life...and good luck

Now that first bit is news that somehow had escaped me, but I am truly delighted to read. My congratulations to you both, give Mrs Gooby my very best wishes. biggrin Can you email me via profile or check your "GoobyPM" address to see if it's blocked. I can't email you for some reason?

Ahh hello my old friend, good to hear from you! If it was a right hand drive car, I would actually probably say "maybe!" The car is provisionally sold now, so it's nearly time to consider which estate makes the grade!

Tim, I know a man with a lovely 3 litre V6 Omega? 6 owners, 110000 on the clock, a bit of service history, non of the dash pixels work, it has an intermitant engine warning light, and both rear wheel archs are falling apart with rust. £800 to you sir!

Oh, and it does the big North Weald circuit in 1min 10 secs! hehe

Tempting, but not quite my style old boy. This one needs to last 3 years at least. Rather looking forward to having a luxo-barge actually.
