Passat CC Gold Coast

VW chooses Pebble Beach to launch CC special edition

Many carmakers choose the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance classic car show to showcase special editions, and this year VW was no exception. The Passat CC Gold Coast edition has a 3.6-litre V6, 6-speed DSG double-clutch transmission, unique tri-coat paint featuring a mix of gold, brown and silver tones, a ground effects package with front and rear spoilers, and new 19-inch alloy wheels.

There is also four leather sports seats with bronze piping and matching colours on the dash and door trim. The VW Passat CC is likely to arrive in the US around December this year, with a starting price under $27,000.

A bit too beige for me but the Passat CC is a very handsome car only let down IMO by the fact that it is only curretnly available as a 4-seater.

OK, so Merc limit the CLS to four seats to 'differentiate it' from the saloon alternative but VW themselves will flog you a 4 or 5-seat version of the Phaeton.

I (occasionally!) wonder how few Phateons they would have actually sold if it was only ever available in 4-seater configuration!

Could they have sold fewer than they actually have? Have they sold any?

Very swish! Looks like some styling ideas have been pinched from the 6 series up front. Best looking VW saloon I've ever seen!

CC - is this a new model or something? I have not heard of it before.

Think it looks nice! Are they doing a 4wd or rwd version?

Can you actually buy this special edition? Otherwise its just a lightly modified VW and hardly newsworthy.
