Im currently in an 18 month contract with orange, but reception is poor where ever i go and i have tried swapping phones and a new sim!.
I set up a new contract on saturday back with 02, but basically my orange contract is £35 a month and i want to put it down to its lowest tariff and just see out the rest of the contract, is there a certain time frame that you can ony do this from, i set up the orange contract in march.

Thanks

I seem to remember I could change my tarrif with Orange after 6 months.

Just out of interest, which area of the country are you in, as there are very few places I have problems with no signal (Maybe some parts of wales), but generally find Orange at least as good as Vodafone and O2 were (vodafone were my previous provider, and O2 for work). They are signiicantly better than T-Mobile.

you can drop it down one tariff at a time half way through your contract.

Had this problem, reduced my tarriff once (as you are allowed after 6months). Said to the woman I needed to reduce it again later, she said fine, call back in 1 month to allow these changes to come into effect. Rang up again a month later, got the "foreign" call centre, who said he simply couldn't drop me down more than once in an 18 month contract, even though I had completed 14.

Asked to speak to his supervisor after telling them I was told just last month I could drop down again. They asked me if I phoned or texted more, I told them I text. They offered me £25 for 600 mins and 50 free texts... I'd hate to see the text allowance on a call more plan! Presumably did this to get the most money out of me, only joke is on them as I only dropped it down to lessen my cost of cancelling the contract. Went to Phones 4 U, they paid me £100 on spot and gave me a new Tocco. Paid off the Orange one yesterday for £64.15 and pocketed the spare.

Weird though, was told that it would take up to 30 days for my cancellation to come into effect and up to 10 days for my code to transfer telephone number. Suprisingly, my SIM is now inactive, less than 18 hours after cancelling. Shame they weren't so responsive when I tried to rectify my 6 months without broadband.... and I doubt will be so quick to provide my PUC code.
