I've got to do a telephone sales pitch...
Discussion
I've got a second interview for a sales position this thursday, and I've been asked to ring in about an hour beforehand and do a pretend pitch for the products I will be selling, which will then be discussed in the interview. Its my first sales position (they know this, just want to see what I come up with) and not sure how best to go about it, does anyone have any tips? Thank you!

Its using a warm database, selling to housing developers so won't be interrupting Joe Public!
Thats what they told you is it? Fair enough. No doubt housing developers are in that small minority of people who love sales calls. You know what a warm database is? Its where they know there is a live person at the other end of the phone number. And thats pretty much it.
Whats the product?

errrrrmmmmmm Are housing developers big in the buying stuff market at the moment? You kow what with them put sites on ice, not being able to sell stock etc?shadowninja said:
Yikes. Good luck! Guess you need to learn a lot about their products because they'll come up with objections to them "buying" it from you. I guess you have to think, "What's in it for the potential customer?" cos that's all the potential customer cares about.
Thank you, I will need it! The md promised to go gently on me (no sniggering) as he knows I have not done this before, just wants a sense of how I come across on the phone I think. The benefit for the customers is that they will hopefully sell their houses alot quicker, and make more money! Georgiegirl said:

You are aware the housing developers are up s
t creek without a paddle at the moment arent you? Hardly anyone is building houses.Remember, persistence prevails when all else fails!
Try not to keep your voice too monotonous otherwise the customer will get bored of hearing it!
Also, talk at a reasonable pace. If you talk to slow, the customer will be guessing what you're going to say next. Too fast and they will be listening to the speed of your voice as opposed to what you're saying.
Make sure you know lots of stuff about the product so when they give you an objection you have an answer for everything. When you recieve an objection answer it without hesitating and going 'umm umm'
HTH!
Oh and good luck!
