How many Grounds visited ?
Discussion
If memory serves me correctly somewhere around 30 footy grounds, all league apart from the Daggers who were non-league at the time.
Still haven't managed to get to Anfield, Man City or Villa Park. Not being a season ticket holder means tickets for away games are scarce.
Apolgies for moving off thread, I'm not a great fan of modern grounds, hate sitting down & find them souless. I've become a bit fed up with footy due the huge amounts of money invloved. The prices for us punters(tix, food, drinks etc) are ridiculous, so I've decided not make players, agents & dodgy club owners any richer by giving it all a miss this season. Sad I know.
Having said all that would love to do the challenge of getting all footy league grounds within a season

Only 16, but a strange mix - I've always lived in the South East and I've somehow been to Walsall and AC Milan, but never to West Ham or Spurs...

Arsenal (Highbury & Emirates)
Charlton
Millwall (Old Den)
Chelsea
Bornemouth
Portsmouth

Quite right! Was at the Emirates on Saturday and I've been in noisier cemeteries! Nice looking ground, especially from the approach outside, but a more soulless place you'll struggle to find, and a far cry from the Highbury of old. Plus I still prefer to stand, but it's a rarity nowadays in league football. Not that many for me.
Middlesbrough (Ayresome Park)
Middlesbrough (Riverside)
Anfield
Old Trafford
Elland Road
St James's Park
Wembley (old)
Reading (not the Majeski)
Anfield was the best, was there to see Liverpool v Leeds about 7 seasons ago, so being a Boro fan was nice to be a neutral.
our first cup final at the old Wembley was a dream.

I did all 92 League grounds in sixteen days back in 1998 for charity. A wonderful experience, one which I'll repeat one day...however with all the new grounds springing up, I guess that number has dropped to below eighty by now.
Following a football club that were non-league but are now Football League, I've got many non-league grounds in my collection too. The Facebook application about football grounds lists me as having 131 so that's my total...

Favourite non league ground is Hayes FC (Now Hayes and yeading), it's an old ground with a roofed stand down one side. Most bazzar is Hamble ASSC's ground which has what looks like an extended potting shed down one side, and tea served in china cups, like most small non league grounds.
Hamble's potting shed stand

Hayes & Yeadings old terraced stand.

Dorchester Towns main stand at their newish state of the art ground.

Still plenty of covered terracing at Dorchester

Dartford's new state of the art ground, with terracing behind both goals

Nice one! The planning must have been involved although no doubt there is now probably a site planner for such a huge task. I've swung the other way, oo er, and gone from the league scene into non league, my ground hopping if the weather stays fine takes me onto a new ground this saturday, the mighty Horndean F.C.Following a football club that were non-league but are now Football League, I've got many non-league grounds in my collection too. 33 for me, the non league stuff looks interesting will have to try to get a non league game or two this season:

It would be much needed. IMO there is not enough revenue distributed down the leagues. The improved FA Cup prize money will help but the non league scene could do with much more to help bring on the local British talent. We've seen how investment in the Olympic bike scene has paid dividends.Non league football isn't like it was years ago when it seemed to be full of fat balding hasbeens

Due mainly to the influx of foreign players the home talent has been forced down the leagues, and obviously depending on the teams some quality football can be seen at a much more reasonable price. There are lots of fors and againsts when it comes to league versus non league but by far the most enjoyable part for me is being able to drive my P&J to a relaxed, mostly non segregated, enjoyable atmosphere where I can park easy and enjoy a good honest grass roots game without any play acting or time wasting.
Having gone the other way, so to speak, I still miss that camaraderie that you still get as a fan of a non-league club. I used to know pretty much every other fan we had when we were getting 2,000 every game. When we won promotion, we gained an extra 4,500 supporters almost overnight, many of which I'd never seen before. Good news for the club though.
As for the 92 in sixteen days tour, great fun. Green Flag did me a route, I booked free accommodation all the way around and had a whale of a time. I'd recommend it as a good way of using a fortnight's holiday...
