mph and revs

guys wondered how hard my 120d auto eff. Dyn. has to work compared to the big 6 cylinder cars some of you lucky lads have got.Ive got a box on dont know what it is normally.


70 mph =exactly 2000 rpm
80 mph 2250 rpm
90 mph 2600 rpm

80 mph is 2000 rpm in the manual 330D.

You need a remapped 335d. 253mph @ 2000rpm... while towing a caravan

I think 80 leptons is about 2,500 rpm

If you think thats good long gearing

the 330d does 1750rpm @ 70mph

But the Seat Ibiza Ecomotive has a 5 speed box with very long final drive... 5th gear does wait for it 50+mph/1000rpm so at 70mph its doing 1,400rpm MAX at 70mph...

My Coupe 5 speed does 2,750 @70mph
Golf GT TDI 115 does 1900rpm @70mph (thats the older longher ratio'd 6th they changed the ratios in 2003 so its a shorter ratio box but along with that worse MPG.

BMW 123d 2000rpm @70mph likewise Golf GT TDI 140,ditto Astra 1.9 CDTI Sri 150 exterior pack.
