Orange broadband and phone tariffs

g off Orange' thread, in fact it has been the fastest and most reliable service I have had.
The issue I have is that I got the wireless 8meg package for £5 a month when I got my £35 a month phone contract. Now I have use of a work phone I just don't need this tariff and want to drop it to a £10 a month sim only deal. I am at the end of the contract and Orange say that if I move to a low tariff I may have to pay full price for the broadband. However, they are two different departments and I am thinking that if I just don't make a deal of it then how will they know, as last time I contacted the Phone lot they said there is no communication between the two.
I want to keep the broadband so does anyone know whether keeping quiet will work?
