I have just bought a Cerb and under the dash is loose, it has a damaged bolt hole, looks an easy fix, this is not the problem.

I removed this and then saw that the steering wheel control box was under there with two peach coloured wires (one about and inch long and the other half an inch approx) entering it and a wiring harness, there was also another peach coloured cable (approx half an inch long) hanging loose could anyone shed any light on this. I can add photo's later when i am back home.

Thanks

Do you mean an inch wide. These sound like the ribbon cables. The loose one may have come off the connector that is attached to the bottom of the steering coloumn bracket - I can't for the life of remember what it's for though - Indicators or Steering wheel buttons maybe??

I think there is a ribon cable from the back of the dash that operates some of the warning lights. Could it be that?

Tis true! Cerbs also have a knack of self diagnosing and fixing themselves - don't ask.

There is a ribbon cable at the top of th dash that connects the MIL light and the Main Beam warning light, if this has come off at the top connection then it could be hanging down below the dash - To check it...Does your MIL light briefly flash whn you switch the ignition on, and does the main beam warning light work?

MIL Light is the MultiFunction Indiator light (I just made that up, but it could be right) I was wrong anyway, the ribbon cable connects the Main Beam light and the Ice warning light (not the MIL which is up at the top). By the way if the MIL light does come on it means the ECU has detected a problem somewhere, if it comes on, stop, and investigate.
