Norfolk police in triple common sense shocker!

Three stories that absolutley amazed me from the EDP:
The first was about a dangerous section of the A?? going across the Norfolk/Suffolk border. The Suffolk police said something along the lines of 'Speed kills, that's a fact. So we're going to place a 50mph limit on it'. The Norfolk police said 'We're going to put up more signs to warn drivers of the dangers on the road in the hope they drive more carefully'.
The second is in either today's or yesterday's paper; drivers who commit driving without due care and attention* offences have the option of going to court and receiving whatever fine/points the court sees fit, or paying £150 to go on a two day driver training course with the police!
*The policeman interviewed in the paper said this scheme would not be for people who commit deliberate offences such as speeding or dangerous driving.
The third is actually by Norfolk County council, they are issuing leaflets and warning farmers about the rules concerning mud on the road ina bid to reduce the amount of accidents caused by mud on the road in winter!
All they need to do now is to cut down the grass verges so we can see round corners in summer and I may actaully respect the authorities again.

Wiltshire Police do a similar thing - i did a 2 day 'Driver Improvement Scheme' course about 3 years ago after i had an accident. Was a very informative and useful course IMO.
mud on road warning is due to a court case last year i think when a farner was prosecuted over a drivers death - got off on appeal i beleive - can be so bad i use knobblies in suger beet season.
no-one likes the A140 speed limit proposal even the police (according to the media) and should create even more mayhem with local trying to get out of side roads.
i wouldn't ssay no to the driver training without the offense - must investigate that.
local BiB like to put speed traps around a certain ex airfield on a regular basis, especially on a friday lunchtime so i doubt the common sense is anything to do with them.
