Can't remember which episode this was on to bump the relevant thread but it looks like another of the rejected applicants is about to prove the dragons wrong:

Nice to see someone have success after the Dragons failed to see a profit.

Rather underpins the notion that all of the Dragons have achieved their success not through commercial brilliance but by a number of factors including luck, inheritance and a bit of crime.

I remember seeing that episode and the guy came across as a bit odd so i'm not surprised they passed on working with him to be honest. His product seemed OK from what I remember though.

My daughter has one of these, and after seeing every series of DD I don't remember seeing it!

We were talking about the 'Trunky' guy at work yesterday, he seems to have done alright without the famous five's help.

Agree. He did come across as possibly a nightmare to work with, and I suspect I can understand why the Dragons made the decision they did.

Good on him for making a success with it tho'.

Looks like a few of the people that come on there are doing it for the exposure more than anything.

Things like this product can be a marketing goldmine which would have cost thousands if done the old fashion way.

Good one him i say.

If the products good enough it will sell thumbup

Surely you're not suggesting that the meteoric rise of one particular dragon was in any way less than entirely legitimate ?

On an entirely unrelated note - Would you like any extras on your 99 ?

Question is, how many of the rejects would have been as successful without national exposure on a prime time telly slot? In which case, can you really say the success was completely without the dens assistance?

Jade Goody is a good example of that.

I've no idea who you mean.

On another entirely unrelated note, I wish my VAT return were that clean

I sense there is something being alluded to here which I know nothing about ... I guess that asking someone to explain it is a bit much, eh?

Thought so ... I'll carry on being ignorant ...

It pisses me off the way they are so disparaging of anyone who 'dares' turn down their offers. Their own self confidence is, I'm sure, part of their reason for success but it doesn't stop them being s.

By contrast, anyone watch secret millionaire? I wonder if any of the dragons would come across as so genuinely affected.
