Not bad for a lanky fella. Michael Johnson doesn't even sound that gutted to have lost his record...he'll have to be content with 'just' the 400m WR now...

If you think about it, he only has to start from stand-still once in a 200m race, not for each 100m. So his average 100m time should be faster anyway

Outrageous to see such a gap between Bolt and the rest of the field, even by the end of the curve. New WR and into a headwind. Epic display.

I reckon he had a 9.60 or maybe even 9.59 sec 100m in there, but decided to cruise to the line from 80m!

Even at 19.30 he has a lot left in the tank. I can see him chipping away at these two records for a good few years now maybe even down to below 9.5s for the 100m and below 19s for the 200m.

That doesn't make sense.
The average speed will tend to be higher in the 200m than the 100m, not the other way around.

Exactly... The first 100 metres is from a standstill, but the second one is a full kilt...

Is he a natural or has he had a bit of 'chemical assistance'? And I mean his running ability not his todger size before you ask.

Yep, -0.9 m/s

Also- his 9.69 for the 100m was 0.0 m/s, imagine what time he could have done if he'd had a full-on +2.0m/s!!!

People have been saying for years that he's an Olympic champion in waiting. He's 6'5" and has worked out how to do a decent start (usually where tall people suffer in sprints).

Natural, apparently. Jamaica are the most tested nation of athletes in the world.

I know it's a typo but that's got me chuckling.

Astounding performance.

Well in that case I raise my hat to him, not that he'd notice being 6'5
