LS7 Bell Housing
Discussion
Hi
I'm in the process of building an RCR GT 40 replica with a LS7 and Kinsler stack (West Sussex) Gearbox is Quaife ZF-Q. It would be really usefull if any of you guys had a drawing of the bell housing bolt hole pattern complete with location of the two positioning dowls (studs?)
Hope this is'nt to far "off thread" but the Gt40 guys tend to frown on anyone using a bowtie motor!
Thanks
John

Drop a mail to Kennedy engineering.
They make adaptor plates for almost any application so may be able to supply you or just help with your dimensions.

Many many thanks, Clive I have sent you a pm. To complete the story I have a prototype bell housing from Quaife which is designed to be used on a SB Ford or a Chevy LS7 and mate with their ZF-Q. However one of the bolt holes does'nt line up correctly and their is no provision for the locating studs. (I offered it up to the LS7 today) I would prefer to go back to them with a solution hence the drawings.
The set up of the LS7 will give about 550 to 560 bhp, Gardener Douglas use a similar set up in some of their most excellent products (I have one of their Cobra's though only on 420bhp) The RCR has a beautiful alloy monocoque so should be on the respectable side of nippy with 550 though not as quick as some of your awesome Ultima's .
Best wishes to fellow hooligans everywhere

John I just put a Kinsler set up on my LS1. I was going to use the K/N single piece sprint car filter but its not long enough for the spacing on the LS intakes which are just a bit longer than a Small Block. What does work, its on the motor now is the two seperate filter set up from Kinsler part # 100-8570
