I fairly sure this is what you need best get somebody to confirm though ,you may need to swap the chip over as well

is the ecu on a1993 v8s the same as a chim pre cat
garage put a91 land rover on and now runs
what is the differance
anybody got 1
It's the same as a chim pre-cat or chim post-cat, depending whether you have cats. garage put a91 land rover on and now runs
what is the differance
anybody got 1
Basically one is configured to run in closed loop mode using the lambda sensors, the other runs open loop.
Yes.

as chris says has the 1 out of a tvr to a range rover
been played with or are they all the same
The TVR one has a different chip, to suit the different engine and transmission characteristics. Other than that the TVR one is the same as the RR Classic 3.9 hotwire ECU - Lucas 14CUX.been played with or are they all the same

Tinks look at this link

Under 'The Control System' further down is details of the chip that needs to be swapped over with the little white sticker on it.
If you're not confident doing this I'd get a TV shop or other electronic repair shop to swap it over for you - it is quite easy to break one of the legs off the chip and then you're really stuffed.
I think it is possible that your replacement ECU may not have a chip socket - it may be soldered in.
Again the electronic repair shop if they are any good will be able to remove the range rover chip (doesn't matter if they wreck it) and fit a socket for the TVR chip.

Some useful stuff there, just be aware that not all of it is completely accurate as far as I remember.GreenV8S said:

There are various revisions of 14cux out there, and although they are all plug compatable, I have found the fueling slightly different with a TVR chip that runs perfectly in a 1992 ECU, produces flat spots in a 1990 ECU, but I dont know why. I know the hardware and software has been changed many times over the years. If yours runs fine then great, but be warned the origional Range Rover mapping run pretty lean above 4500 rpm, plus a rev limit around 5200-5400 rpm, so tranferring to another ECU, using the TVR chip is a must.

no i cannot tried 2from a chim and would not run
somebody said to day, ecu are not the same 1 is set for 3am and other 5 am
my air flow has 5 am on it
how will i tell what ecu is set up for
may have 1 from a 92 v8s fingers crossed
how are you now you have 8
The 3 am and 5 am are basically the same, its just down to if its Hitachi,or Lucas. There is an extra pin on one of them, but its not connected to the internal PCB, and electrically the signal levels are the same. Thers only 4 meaningfull connections, ground 12v, CO trim, and airflow output. I have run these two back to back on the bench with controlled airflow, and found no difference. There is certainly no reason why either of these should not work on a 14cux of any age.somebody said to day, ecu are not the same 1 is set for 3am and other 5 am
