Ford ka heater

1998 Ford Ka2 blows hot air all the time even when set to cold
can anyone help please

Heater Control Valve (HCV) knackered? I assume it has one (my '01 Puma did)

does the heater valve have to be a genuine ford part or do halfords etc.. do them

They are about £35 from a dealer- basically a motorised valve that regulates the temp of the water it lets into the car heater matrix- its a fair bet yours is just stuck on hot!
