Just watch a 14y.o. caught driving on Roadwars. He was given a 1(!) year ban in court.

My question is why one year and not at least 3 (i.e. until he is at least 17).

The ban will be from the date he is eligible for a licence, as far as I understand the system. Not that that will stop him.

I think that if you nick a car, crash it or whatever. Instead of a 3 year ban or a 1 year, you should be banned for life. You will never drive another vehicle legally. Life ban. End of!

They never will drive legally anyway so completely and utterly ineffective

How about jail?

Or is that only for tax payers

Is jail the answer? Its hardly 3 years hard labour is it! If jail was a little harder and it was a bad place to be, people would be scared of going, but as it stands... you ask a scrote if they are scared of going to prison and I guarantee they will say no.

Nasty little scrotes. Put it this way, the next car they steal would have to be an automatic.

In one episode, it was explained that they are given a skelington license??? if they dont have one alredy (ie 14 yr olds) then the ban/points added to that license. If they are stopped again in the future they can be also charged with driving whilst dissqualified, which holds a higher sentance.

I took it as a way of building up to putting them away.

I could be very wrong and await to be shot down.

In one episode, they arrested a guy who had just been released, and in a calm relaxed manner told them he wanted to go back cos he missed the playstation and good food!!!!!
