Am I alone in receiving rather a lot of emails from the above publisher? I don't recall having subscribed to any of their news letters, yet have been receiving rather a lot of emails lately from their various publications. Annoyingly I have to unsubscribe from each of them rather than all Haymarket stuff.

Have PH given out my email to them or is this just part of the take-over deal that they get all PHers emails? Apologies to PH if I'm way off the mark, but I can't think of any other way they've ended up with my email address confused

Hi Moose

I have not given my permission for this to happen, in fact I go out of my way to ensure that it doesn't happen very often at all.

The only one I know of was a subscription offer for Autocar that went out quite recently- I was happy for this to happen as it was relevant to the PH audience, but thats the only one. These will only go out to those that have allowed third party mailings when they signed up.

Can you tell me more about the type of mail you are receiving as I take abuse of the PH e mail database very seriously.

Cheers
PG

Hi Garlick,

I tend to delete them straight away, so only have the one I received today which was from "What Car?" titled "What Car? Green Awards" (something that couldn't interest me less wink) However, it does say at the top of the email:

This email has been sent to you because you previously agreed to receive emails from Haymarket Media Group, publishers of Autocar.

so perhaps it's nothing to do with PH at all, but I'm usually very careful about who I give my email address to and don't recall ever giving Haymarket mine.

Moose, I can see the e mail you used to register with PH. Is this the same e mail that the spam e mail was sent to?

If so, with your permission, i'll investigate exactly how you came to be on the HM database

Hi Garlick,

It was indeed sent to the same email address I've registered with PH and you do have my permission to look into it.

Many thanks in advance smile

I managed to get Moose removed from the spam list- turns out is was unrelated to PH in the end.

As I know the right bloke to speak to, would you like me to get you removed too?

Thanks. A wee while ago, I sent an email to "admin@ecm.hbpl.co.uk" asking them to send me no further communication and to request similar of their subsidiaries and associate companies.

I'd tried taking the 'unsubscribe' link but it didn't work.

To save you using up favours, let's give it a week or so to see if I'm still receiving messages. If I am, I'll get back to you and let you know.

Thanks again.

Cheers,

Eric smile
