A most unusual experience on the way home last night.
I'd noticed a Hyundai Coupe with a couple of blokes in it driving a bit erraticly through the usual A-road rush hour traffic, after a while I ended up behind them and they took the same turning as me onto the motorway. The slip road is a two lane affair which splits into two sections as it joins the main m-way which is 4 lanes at this point with the two inner lanes dedicated to coming off at the next junction which comes up quite soon and the outer two lanes allocated for continuing along the m-way. Sounds complicated, and I suppose it is, especially in heavy traffic at peak time when if you're going straight on as I was you have to do a fair bit of filtering across. To go straight on it makes sense to use the outer lane of the slip road so I always get into this asap, there's also quite a good double apex corner onto the slip which I quite enjoy making a bit of progress round.
So, I performed my usual manouver, carrying nice speed through the corner and onto the outer lane of the slip, at this point I'm now alongside the rear of the Hyundai in the inner lane of the slip, which indicates along with two other cars to come out into the outer lane, being familiar with the complexity of the road ahead and being a courteous sort I ease off and create a gap for the three cars to slot into. Said cars move out into the lane at which point the Hyundai coupe decides to brake test me ..... three times! Virtually down to a standstill. I'm a bit perturbed at this as I've actually let him come across, but don't make any reaction, I really can't be arsed mucking about on the road, so I let him go and continue on my way.
A couple of ticks later, it turns out that the Hyundai is taking the next exit after all so he could have quite easily stayed on the inside and made better progress, I'm just mulling over what a tit this guy is when I notice that he's now going quite slowly, almost like he's waiting for me to catch up .... which indeed he is, as I approach the window rolls down, here we go methinks, the obligatory w
r sign or something equally original.... but no, as I cruise past I give him the eyeball, and he lets loose with a large gob of phlem out of his open window! Nice! However, he obviously didn't pay too much attention in physics lessons at school, otherwise he'd have known that spitting into the wind at 65mph on a motorway it's going to come right back at him and down the side of his own car. I couldn't help but smile and tootle on my way at the poetic justice of it all.
Not really a rant, sorry, just something I had to get off my chest, so to speak...[cough]

Disgusting! I once got into an altercation with a van driver who got out of his van at a traffic light to berate me because I had beaten him away from the previous traffic light (FFS!). He pulled his van in front of me, got out, came to my door and tried to open it but couldn't - I had locked myself in. So instead he tried to gob through the 1 inch gap at the top of the window. I was quite scared & had had enough at this stage, the lights had turned green, so I turned the steering wheel and set off round his van. On looking back, there he was hopping around in the road, puce-coloured and clutching his foot, which I had obviously just run over...
