You know it's going to happen don't you.

Great Britain has just had it's most successful Olympics ever, and you just know who, this weekend at the handing over ceremony, will be basking in all the glory.

Gordon f**king Brown.

I'm ready to throw up already.

It won't gain him a single vote. It's too late for that now.

Who cares?! Let him have a few moments of fun before he is rolled off into history as one of the most utterly useless PM's in history, assuming he is even remembered at all. A fitting tribute for a man of such utter uselessness and drabness.

the current governemtn will try and take all the credit for their 'hard work' in spending money and training athletes. furious

then another former government will claim it was their idea to set lottery funding up for the sports

whereas all along it is the sheer drive and determination of the athletes to win and be the best at all costs

screw the government.

Well Done all atheletes for such a fantastic result. bow

I wonder how much of the UK's gold sold by Gordon Brown was used to make the medals in china? Think we'll need a few more gold’s to get £1bn's worth back that the then dipshit chancellor effectively gave away to china.

It gets worse; I read last night that Gordon now feels 'proud' to be a Briton after watching our olympic performance, and has been re-envigorated to 'go on and win' the next general election and right the wrongs of labour, to mirror the performance of our olympians 'climbing over all obstacles and boundaries'.

Probably none as they're not made of gold.

The only real gold ones were at the '39 Berlin Olympics I think, because Hitler wanted to show how prosperous Germany was.

+1

I hope those Daily Mail reading muppets who said they would boycott Beijing 2008 due to China this and Tibet that are disappointed at missing the best ever performance by British (or UKish) athletes. It is they who missed the point of the Olympics, not everyone watching it.

Don't know if it's still the same but it used to be that the most valuable medal in terms of metal content was the bronze.

But what would happen if he somehow managed to pull it off. The win that is.

Just think about that and be very scared.

eta... Well done to all the Olympians. thumbup

FFS! The guy is not a popular PM. Especially on this forum.

However he is like it or not the Prim Minister and like it or not London will be hosting the next Olympics. So his presence at the handing over ceremony is necessary.
Griping every time the man carries out his Prime Ministerial duties will only make you miserable.

This is how I read it:
"Gordon now feels 'proud' to be a Briton" - So, before the Olympics he was NOT proud to be a Briton.
"has been re-envigorated to 'go on and win' the next general election" - So he was NOT envigorated to go and win before then?

The guy is a pleb, no one wants him and he stands more chance of winning the next election as I do.

It was John Major that sorted out the lottery funding. It was mentioned on the TV highlights programme a few nights ago IIRC.

I'm still puking over him telling the gallant lads in Helmand that they are preventing terrorism hitting the streets of GB .

Tell that to the victims of 7/7 and the home-grown British-passport-holders who blew them up and the UK-resident fruitcakes who drove a Jeep into Glasgow Airport
