Cracking phone on paper.
Although will it be as good as the new Samsung Omina?

wise choice?
Fantastic camera, brilliant for internet access etc and decent video / mp3 player (realplayer mobile)
The camera really is worth it alone - 5mp with carl zeiss optics, brilliant pics.
But I would be tempted to wait for the N96 if I were you?

I got an N96 on Tuesday.
Today it's gone back in the box and gone back to Orange, it's without doubt the most retarded POS I've ever owned. Slow, unfriendly menus, and buggy as hell. To top it off, it's suffered a lock up each day I've had it. Never again. Grrrr.
the joys of getting a new (as in recently released) phone I had the same prob when Orange released the N95 two months down the line when software updates where released it was a fantastic peace of kit Today it's gone back in the box and gone back to Orange, it's without doubt the most retarded POS I've ever owned. Edited to add shame it seems buggy I have been waiting for it

I've got an early N95 on Orange, and found it better once the updates came out for it.
Found it better still once I found out that you could unbrand it, and put the Generic Nokia firmware on it. (Doesn't unlock the sim lock though!), which makes the phone how Nokia originally planned it - VOIP (Cheep foriegn calls), and other bits and pieces are worth it alone.
I Renewed my contract earlier this year, and got given a Nokia 6500c, which I sold and bought a 6500s, as a potential replacement for my N95, as it was smaller and more robust. Swapped back to the N95 inside a week.
A mate of mine got his N96 last week on Vodafone, and has found it locks up etc. He is going to bear with it until the updates become available.

Whats the TV reception like? (it has an inbuilt TV tuner doesn't it?)Found it better still once I found out that you could unbrand it, and put the Generic Nokia firmware on it. Not for the UK it doesnt
I've heard many others with them locking up as well.
I'm waiting for the N85, which is cheaper, and from what I've read supposed to be better as well.
T-mobile are out of stock already on N96's. I just got a free upgrade to an mda compact iv, t-mobiles version of the HTC touch diamond. I'm not a big fan of windows mobile, but it has a built in gps and a vga 640 x 480 display, and works with memory map, so I can have proper ordnance survey maps for the whole uk at 1:50,000 and national parks at 1:25,000 in my pocket.
Which is nice.
