For most of the last hour, it seems, Cram and the other bloke have been banging on about how the GB team broke the rules in the relay and should be disqualified.

Cram: 'I'm sure he crossed the yellow line before he had the baton properly'
Other bloke: 'Yes, he should be disqualified. Let's see it again in slow motion'
Cram: Yes, you can clearly see he's broken the rules, he should be disqualified. Let's watch it again just to make sure...'
Other bloke: Yes it's perfectly clear.'

So is it acceptable for a GB athlete to cheat in your opinion?

What should they talk about when teams fail to get the baton round?

I've not seen this many failures to finish a relay in a long time - at least 2 per heat isn't it?!

I think "cheat" is too strong a word for what happened here.To me "cheat" involves some pre-meditation..."got it wrong and inadvertently broke the rule" is more accurate I think...

Ok, should we pretend we never saw a member of the British GB team inadvertently breaking the rules?

It seems to me that the OP is calling for the BBC to turn a blind eye.

Your question is based on a false assertion. It was a mistake, not an attempt to cheat..

Can you imagine the commentators of any other country being so determined to get their own team thrown out? No, it's just a symptom of the GB self-arse-kicking that we do.

ETA: By all means they can mention it once, but not keep banging on and on. It was totally unecessary and annoying. If the Chinese officials are OK with it, then that's what counts - like a faulty line call in tennis. When a ball is just out and not called, do you get he player saying 'Hold on, my ball was out, I'd like to give my point to the other player'? I've never seen it.

As for breaking rules, I bet you've done 31 in a 30 and not admitted it.

I didn't read it as st stirring. I saw it as commentating on something that most of the GB public watching would want to view and analyse in the vain hope we'd get through.
