ST200 IMRC Issues

My mate has an X reg ST200 and his IMRC is playing up (he had the same problem with his ST24 but couldn't be bothered to fix it). Sometimes it works but other times it doesn't, often a restart will sort it out.

Basically, he wants to know if he buys a replacement (I believe it all comes in one piece), can any garage fit it? He's now spoken to three Ford Dealers who had absolutely no idea what an ST200 was!! and he obviously doesn't want to give his mint example to any old idiot garage.

He's in Hatfield if there are any recommendations locally.

It's easy enough to fit yourself, just a little bit fiddly hooking the cable on. Any garage (non-franchise) would be able to do it if needed

aye its not hard to replace it yourself, and while he's doing it, re-locate it to a better place, most people choose under the battery, its the heat coming from the engine that screws them up
