Please don't move this mods. this is pub talk and I might get someone who know's what they're talking about in the music section.

I got a spotty kid to put all my vinyl recotds on to cd so i can get them on my ipod. (50p each)

As i was going through them, obviously wanting to play them all now, i was wondering what is the best comeback album?

I'll keep mine to myself for the time being. my user name might give a clue.

Which do you reckon?

In Rainbows by Radiohead?

After OK Computer they disapeared up their bums for a bit and just released a couple of albums of unlistenable jazz, then released Hail to the Thief which was a mixed bag.

In Rainbows is an absolute stormer, a real return to the form of OK Computer.

it's not a comeback album - they didn't break up or say they were finished.

Comeback albums tend to be disappointments.

Ah, fair enough. In which case The Eagles? Split up in 1980 and reformed in 1994 for Hell Freezes Over. Split up again and then released Long Road out of Eden in 2007.

Does it have to be by a band that officially broke up and then got back together?

Or does a long gap between records count?

Can you count solo artists?

We need rules man.

I'd argue that Kid A and Amnesiac are better than the first two!

It's been getting 3/5 reviews.

First album was good, but then they ran out of ideas, broke up several times, and knocked out Urban Hymns purely for the money, and because Oasis set it up for them.

Richard Ashcroft is a pompous egomaniac, and in the recent Maida Vale interviews on R1 described The Verve as "A collective, like the Wu-Tang Clan".

So even tho they have the same folk in the same room, making records, and touring, they haven't reformed, and Nick McCabe still thinks Ashcroft is a prize cock.

Without a proper definition of a comeback album, I'm going to have to go for Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan. Having not made a decent record for 6/7 years and people thinking that his talent had diasppeared, he came back with the best album of his career, and one the greatest LPs ever.

Kid A is surprisingly good, but then I like Autechre and other madness.

It can't be any worse than St Anger? When is it out?
