BMW 328i Convertible electic hood

Hello Can anyone help???.I have a 1996 convertible,the other day the hood got stuck I decided to force it a little bit(TO MUCH)when it goes up now it clicks and slips like as if it is slipping on a cog or teethed wheel under the hood compartment that lifts up to house the hood when down.I dont think it can be electrical.Does any one know if these are prone to have this problem.What is the solution.PLEASE HELP

Sounds like you've stripped a nylon cog. Find a good independent BMW specialist who has experience of hood problems as you'll be surprised how complicated they can be if one part exerts too much pressure on another.

Ok thanks for that it is booked in just wondered if it was easy.The specialist said it is computerised???????? did not know if he was just saying that to get my money.
