Bit of cold caller fun......
Discussion
I just received a cold call from some accident chasing legal firm that seems to have offices in Delhi .....
They wanted to know if anyone in my family had suffered an accident .
I explained to them that my brother had been decapitated in a terrible blender accident while making margaritas . This seem to cause some confusion at the other end of the phone .
After explaining this a couple of times I landed up talking to the floor supervisor I explained it all again and said that I'd like to sue my brother for the hurt and distress he'd caused me .
He said he would get head office to ring me .....
Head office ring five minutes later ( really ! ) .
I explained again that my brother , while making margaritas , had put his head in a blender and turned it on . This resulted in his decapitation and death . I obviously found this very upsetting and would like to sue him . Would this be possible ? They asked if he was there ???? I said no he's dead due to decapitation ....
They then asked me if the accident had happened at work ... I said no it was at home but he works from home so did that count ? Head office man said he didn't think so .
I then asked if we could sue the blender manufacturer for making the hole in the top big enough to put your head in . Again head office man didn't think so and that they didn't think they were going to be able to help with my case .
Funny thing is I'm pretty sure that if I'd said it happen at work they would still be on the phone ....

Sorry to hear about your brother.
Thank you it was a great loss to us all , but really it was his own fault
I was being driven mad by cold calling from a mobiel phone company.
I used my contacts to find the name and home phone number of the CEO.
I rang him every Sunday at 8.30am for six weeks, explaining that I wasn't selling anything, but that as his company has been kind enough to disturb me at the weekend, I thought I'd returnthe favour.
He went mental.
Most satisfying.

k off?Would luuuurve to hear a tape of that phone call!
They always ask for Mr X when they phone up, I say, there is 2 Mr Xs in this house, my Dad and me. They say Dad's initial so I said the Mr Z.X doesn't exist, my Dad is Dr. Z.X. So they ask for Dad and say he is a very busy man and is in an important meeting just now. They say when can we get him and I repeat he is a very busy man and probably won't want to speak to them anyway and I put the phone down.
A cheeky b
d wanted his card number the other day, "just to check". Dad refused, put the phone down and he phoned him back and said he was legitamate but Dad said he refused to and put the phone down again. I said we should threaten him with giving his name and number to the fraud squad, but he didn't say anything.

I think it was here on PH a few years ago I read of somebody who sent them a fax back asking them to stop cold calling him. The second time, he sent a couple of dozen copies to make sure one got through. The third time he sent a couple of thousand copies. They stopped calling him.GreenV8S said:

A good trick is to fax them a black piece of paper (preferably over the weekend) x100Come monday morning they will not have any ink left in the fax machine. Do this for a few weekends. They'll soon get the message

Won't work if the fax machine uses thermal paper though.
Just write "c u n t" in small letters right in the middle of the page and send that loads and loads of times, unwind the whole roll of paper in their fax machine and they can't even get the YTS lad to wind it back up into a roll because it says "c u n t" every 12 inches.
