The Notts Classic Car show is at Thoresby Park near Ollerton on August Bank Holiday Monday. Excellent large show with lots of cars and bikes.

We'll have a TVR area as usual. All TVRs welcome to join us.

Pictures from the last show

Last time I went there I was a car exhibitor and the tight money grabbing bds on the gate charged exhibitors for the priviledge before letting us in. We weren't told about this beforehand. I had a hunch at the time they were also charging the public to view as well, the public entered via a different gate to the exhibitors. Don't think I'll go there again.

Most car shows seem to charge to show your car these days. There seems to be very few free shows anymore (Stamford is one of the few). I guess the problem is they get charged for the use of the field and I doubt the 'public' out number the 'exibitors' by much. Pre-92 cars could pre-register for £2.50 at Thoresby. We used to be able to do this for TVRs but sadly not anymore.

Doesn't seem to put too many people off as it's a very busy show. As said what's £6 nowadays, just a good cheap day out...

The did seem very funny with things this time, we will have to see what happens next time after the complaints have flooded in, if it does'nt improve or return to what it was, then I think people will be showing them what they think by not turning up I think.

I found it very strange to be treated in such a way. if it wasnt for people bringing there cars in the first place there would be no show. I went to Moorgreen instead. And bought loads of cake.

Was odd. yes There was plenty of space and car shows are pretty crap if they turn away all the cars. If someone is at the gate with £12 in hand the least they could do is let you come in.
