Fridges...help needed.
Discussion
The dial on my fridge is labelled 1 to 5, at present it's on 3. I want to make it colder to cool my beer (an honourably manly pursuit). Do I turn the dial to 5 to increase the power of the fridge or to number 1 to decrease the temperature? I realise it's not exactly splitting the atom, but I need that beer cooling fast!

5.But put a few in the freezer whilst you drink the first. Take them out within half an hour and move them to the fridge.

Frequently the knob is slightly stiffer when you try to turn it in the direction that makes the fridge colder and slightly floppier when you try and turn it in the direction that makes the fridge warmer.
The use of the words "knob", "stiffer" and "floppier" is deliberate, so that we can get the sniggering over in one fell swoop.
