Just got my car back after 6 weeks from 'a garage' (water pump failed and the gaskets went) and found the pictured hose flapping around unconnected. (pictures are of it plugged back in).

Problem is I drove it the 4 miles home like that and want to be sure there's been no damage smile

Other grumbles are that after putting the engine back together (and belts back on) they then told me the ac belt/water pump belt needs changing as its starting to shred. I.e. I would need to pay the labour charges to take the bits off needed to effect this. Also told that Vauxhall refused the warranty claim for this? How much are belts, a couple of quid max? Why couldn't they change it over when they had everything in pieces!!

And on top of that the belts were changed less than 10k miles ago anyway. And were passed as fit at the major service 400 miles before the car broke down.

Thanks.

There'll be no damage to the car. Just the environment but that's knackered anyway.
All it means if the PCV was not attached is that anything ventilated out of the crankcase will go out into the world.

Yeah, but the other end gets sucked into the engine, so its not super ideal as its not filtered.
Also most people run a MAF and that will mess up its calculations as the air ingested will bypass it. Mafless wont care unless it goes in behind the throttle which will make the car run crap.
